The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents recently:

- An officer was dispatched to the 13,000 block of FM 2432 in reference to a Burglary of a Habitation. The Homeowner reported that a 52 inch Plasma television, a 52 inch rear projection television, Karaoke machine, and amplifier were stolen. This case is referred to the Criminal Investigating Division for additional investigation.

- An officer was dispatched to a Theft past call on I-45 South. The complainant stated that their receptionist had been making personal purchases on the company credit cards without permission. In a res gestae statement from the suspect, a 20 year-old white female, stated she had been using the card to pay bills that were due. She was unsure how much she had charged, only that she had been doing it for 3-4 months. The DA Office was contacted and charges for Credit Card Abuse were accepted. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

- An officer was sent to the 16500 block of Live Oak Square in reference to a criminal mischief and attempted theft. The Deputy was advised by dispatch that a male driving a red Ford pickup truck was seen attempting to take a transformer from the side of the road. While attempting to load the transformer onto the truck the male spilled a large amount of oil on the roadway from the transformer. The oil had also run into the ditch. The male had left the scene. The male was located a short time later. The transformer was valued at $1550.00 and the environmental cleanup from the oil spill would cost $4600.00. The 35 year old male from Porter was arrested at 11:36am and transported to jail.


- An officer was dispatched to 13240 Massey Road, in reference to a Family Violence in Progress. On arrival, the deputy learned that a husband and wife had been yelling and pushing each other in regards to the whereabouts of their son’s cell phone. Assault citations were issued and the case is referred to Justice Court for disposition.

- An officer conducted a traffic stop in a school zone at the 13,400 block of FM 1485 in Grangerland. The driver of the stopped vehicle was in violation of several traffic laws and had been speeding at a rate of 72 mph as he approached the school. A clear plastic baggie was found containing 18 pills of Ecstasy. The driver, 28 years old, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance – Felony Second Degree.

- An officer was dispatched to Rollingwood in reference to burglary of a vehicle. When she arrived on location she met with the complainant who stated he had accidentally driven into a ditch at a friend’s house on 10/28/08. His car was stuck and it was dark so he got a ride home with the intentions of having a family member take him back the next day to get the car. When he returned on 10/29/08 he discovered someone had busted the driver’s side window out. A number of items were stolen from the damaged vehicle for a total loss of $1,283 (this includes the cost to replace window. The report was completed and the case referred to CID-detectives.
