Score/Results: Defeated Fairmont 25-11, 25-22
The girls 7B volleyball team defeated Fairmont last night by a score of 25-11, 25-22 to improve their record to 5-0 in zone play. Jessica O’Brien led the team in points with 8, followed by Lauren Brock with 7 and Lauren Rife with 6 points. Caylie Pullig and Lauren Rife led the team with 4 passes each and Adrianna Fraga with 7 assists. Good luck to the girls this weekend in the district tournament.
7th A 2, Fairmont 1
Score/Results: 10-25, 25-20 & 25-23
The 7A volleyball won a hard fought game against Fairmont to win the zone championship. After losing the first game 10-25, the girls fought back and took the next two by scores of 25-20 and 25-23. Jada Knott had an outstanding game with 17 points, 7 hits, 11 dinks and 16 assists. Alana Tinker was close behind with 12 points, 4 hits and 11 assists. Maddi Williston had 11 points, 7 passes to target and 7 hits. Michelle Linton had a solid game with 6 hits and 6 passes to target. Jocelyn Schoppe and Kara Sollock both had good all around games with 6 passes each and 6 and 9 points respectively. Others contributing to the win were Abby Hawthorne, Mariah Mills, Ashlyn Rickey and Ali Dupin. The girls will play for the District Championship this weekend. This was definitely a team effort. The girls just refused to lose and continued to fight for each point. The Most Valuable Player of the game goes to the entire team.

The 7B volleyball team improved their record to 4-0 in zone play Thursday night by defeating Deepwater by a score of 25-13, 27-25. Jessica O’Brien led the team in scoring with 11 points followed by Lauren Rife with 6 points and Madison Gray and Haley Harold with 4 points each.

The 8B Lady Fawns won their 4th straight zone game last night beating Deepwater 25-16, 25-11. Amanda Dahnke led the team in scoring with 15 points followed by Becca Rodriguez with 11 and Brooke Erdmann with 8. Becca Rodriguez led the team offensively with 6 hits followed by Lauren Allen and Amanda Anatra each with 4 hits while Taylor Overstreet and Taylor Obenberger each had 3. Defensively the team was lead by Brooke Erdmann, Samanatha Cervantes, Sarah Sanford and Tiffany Ramos. Others contributing to the win include: Annslee Davidson, Frannie Escoto, Erica Harris, Alicia Nettles and Lauren Oehler. A special thanks to all of the people who came out to watch the girls last home game.

8th A 8, Fairmont 8
The DPJH 8A Football Team completed their quest for a Bay Area League North Zone Championship with an 8 to 8 tie against Fairmont on Wednesday. Deer Parks Touchdown came on a 6-yard run by Taylor Sisemore which capped off a 75-yard drive.This game put DPJH in a tie for 1st place with La Porte, however, DPJH took 1st place alone due to the fact that the fawns beat La Porte head to head. Offensive players of the game were; Bailey Darden, Jon Mark Feeback, Taylor Sisemore, Daniel Lamic, and Cody Goad. Defensive players of the game were: Miles Fojt, Jacob Hickman, Daniel Lamic, Cody Goad, Eric Fitzwater, Evan Brown, and Forrest Tiemann. The Big Hit of the Game was shared by Miles Fojt and Jacob Hickman. Deer Park will play Friendswood next week for the overall Bay Area League Championship.

7th Grade B volleyball team dominated the bullpuppies! This was one of their best wins the whole season! The teamwork was absolutely amazing. Jenna Fife and Madison Davis dug up almost every ball that came thier way. Samantha McMahon, Selena De La Cruz, Blythe Steifel, Fabiola Cuza, Hannah Malley and Christian Guzman stood tall at the net and pounded the ball across the net. Skye Garcia and Miranda Caffell set our hitters up almost perfectly! Jasmine Wilcoxon, Taryn Munoz, and Callie Smith also contributed to the amazing win. Good luck against Deer Park on Monday. “I could not ask for a better team and I am so proud of you.” -Coach Sillavan

Score/Results: Fairmont wins 16-25, 25-16, 25-14
The 8B Lady Vikings Volleyball team defeated the La Porte Bullpups last night by scores of 16-25, 25-16, 25-14. It was a tough match the first game with the Bullpups coming out ready to play and won 16-25. But the Vikings came out the second game ready to play and defeated La Porte by a score of 25-16. The Third game the Vikings never lost the lead and won 25-14. I am so proud of my team — they showed great character by coming back from a loss and defeating La Porte and remaining undefeated,” said Coach Milliorn. Leading the scoring was Caytlin Kee with 16 points. Kori Schumann follwed up with 8 points. Madeline Wadsworth had 5 and Marisa Garcia, Rebecca Chance, and Courtney Saxton all had 2 points each. Haley Lofton and Caytlin Kee were stron offensively with 9 hits each. Taylor Tice and Marissa Garcia both and 6 hits. Rebecca Chance, Madeline Wadsworth, and Bailey Davis all had 2 hits a piece. Shannon Crosby, Courtney Saxton and Kori Schumann wrapped the hitting with 1 each. Haley Lofton, Bailey Davis and Taylor Tice all had some amazing blocks last night. Rebecca Chance, Kori Scumann, Madeline Wadsworth, and Courtney Saxton all had some great digs defensively.

The Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League is currently accepting team applications for the 2009 season. The goal for the 2009 season is to establish at least 50 solid teams across North America and in Other Countries.
Open enrollment for the upcoming season ends Jan. 31, 2009.

ECBA seeking local teams
Introducing the Elite Club Basketball Association, (ECBA). Our goal is to provide high quality men’s basketball on the Semi-Professional level.
The ECBA administrative staff has worked hard to improve the level of Semi-Pro Basketball in the United States and to make the league operations efficient and appealing to the members.
The ECBA offers great exposure and top rate competition. The league is designed to show scouts what players are capable of doing in live game situations. Teams will compete against very talented former-college and professional players with a variety of experience.
We are expecting to start 2009 with 20 to 25 teams across Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, and other states.
The 2009 Season begins on May 16 and ends Aug. 15, 2009. The 2009 schedule will feature weekly games played on Saturdays.
Team enrollment ends Jan. 31, 2009.
