Police Report
West University officers picked up and transported to West U’s jail a suspect detained by another jurisdiction who had a warrant from West U.
Police were called to the 2700 block of University Boulevard to meet a resident who reported an apparent home burglary between Oct. 16-18. Unknown suspects entered the house through an unsecured second story window. The house was ransacked and small items taken.
A resident of the 3000 block of Amherst Street reported credit card abuse.
A driver stopped by police for an expired paper tag had an outstanding probation violation warrant out of Louisiana. The driver was taken into custody pending magistration and extradition.
In the 5700 block of Kirby Drive, a complainant reported an unknown suspect had smashed his vehicle’s window and removed a laptop and other property.
Police determined there were no signs of foul play when they were dispatched to a home in the 3700 block of Robinhood in which a death was reported. The Harris County Medical Examiner also conducted an investigation.
The Southside Place Police Department notified West U police that a strange letter containing various requests on topics from street maintenance to handling sex offenders was written by someone currently under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for sending threatening correspondence to government officials.
An officer stopped a vehicle in the 4200 block of Bissonnet Street that did not have a license plate displayed on the front. The driver did not have a license and a search of records determined the driver had a suspended license. The officer took the driver into custody.
An officer stopped a vehicle traveling at about 39 miles per hour in the 6200 block of Buffalo Speedway, which has a posted speed of 30 mph. Also, one of the tail lights was not working. The driver did not have a driver’s license and failed to maintain financial responsibility. The officer took the driver into custody for the violations.
