Answer 1: I support our current policies for legal immigration. However we must work to better enforce our laws. I believe our primary focus must be to secure our borders and punish those who are in our country illegally, particularly those who commit other crimes.
Answer 2: We must implement an “all of the above” strategy to address high fuel costs and reduce our dependence on imported oil. This includes environmentally safe drilling for oil and natural gas in currently restricted areas (ANWR and the Outer Continental Shelf), and further development and investment in alternative and green energies such as fuel cells, hybrids, wind, solar, clean coal and nuclear. Our policy should include incentives for corporations to continue developing clean energy technologies.
Answer 3: I have voted to maintain current levels of funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide health care benefits to children whose families can least afford them. I believe we should also work toward insuring more adults in this country by allowing people to ban together across state lines to create greater purchasing power and lower the cost of coverage.
Answer 4: I support our current policies for legal immigration. However we must work to better enforce our laws. I believe our primary focus must be to secure our borders and punish those who are in our country illegally, particularly those who commit other crimes.
