Playoff-Bound Dynamo to Stop Off in Katy Thursday

The Western Conference champion Houston Dynamo and StatoilHydro will play host to the final of three Soccer Night Out events, this one with a special Halloween theme on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Katy Park.

Dynamo players Mike Chabala, Nick Hatzke, Erik Ustruck and Stephen Wondolowski will be on hand at an event designed to bring the community together for soccer-related games and activities everyone can enjoy.

The final Soccer Night Out will include face painting, candy giveaway and a Halloween pumpkin carving contest. Fans will also be able to enter a poster contest for the Dynamo’s November 9 home playoff game.

It’s all free to the public ands activities will include soccer tennis, pick-up soccer games and other interactive soccer drills; games for young children; music; and free giveaways from the Dynamo and StatoilHydro.


The event is scheduled to run from 5 to 7 p.m. at Katy Park at 24927 Morton Road.

The Dynamo take a 13-5-12 record onto the first round of the Major League Soccer playoffs. They begin pursuit of their third consecutive MLS championship on Saturday with their first playoff game on the road against the New York Red Bulls.
