Magnolia and Tomball area residents may want to grab their running shoes head over to The Woodlands for the GE “Run thru the Woods” charity event on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27.
Although the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has closed for the season due to damages from Hurricane Ike, it will still be the host site of this year’s annual GE “Run thru the Woods” charity event, according to the South Montgomery County YMCA.
“We will still host the 19th Annual GE ‘Run thru the Woods’ on Thanksgiving Day since the areas of the venue used for this event were not damaged by the hurricane,” said Jeff Young, Vice President of Operations for the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. “This is an annual charity event that continues to bring families and friends together and provides them with the opportunity to give back to their community. Many people look forward to this event, and we are happy to continue to be the race site.”
The event will be held Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 27 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Race times for the event are set with the 1-mile Children’s Race for ages 12 and under beginning at 7:45 a.m., the 5-mile race at 8:15 a.m., the 3-mile Teen Race for ages 12-17 at 8:20 a.m. and the 3-mile walk at 8:25 a.m.
