A Montgomery man was killed while riding his four-wheel all-terrain vehicle on Walden Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 22, officials said.
Brandon Cole Turner, 24, and two other riders were on ATVs around 2:30 am. Turner hit the ATV in front of him and was thrown from the vehicle, striking the pavement. He died from his injuries, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety Conroe Communications Office.
An ambulance transported Turner to Conroe Medical Regional Center, where Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Lanny Moriarty pronounced him dead.
Preliminary autopsy reports showed Turner died from blunt trauma force to the head, Moriarty said.
Turner was a worker on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, Moriarty said.
“He worked two weeks on and two weeks off. He had some time off and was letting off some steam,” Moriarty said.
Turner had a wife and young child.
Steve Massey, editor and publisher of the Teague Chronicle in Teague, Texas, said Turner was a 2002 graduate of Teague High School.
