A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ronald Lee Green at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Plant as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2008, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m.

Ronald was born June 30, 1948, in Highlands, Texas and passed away October 12, 2008 in Conroe, Texas. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Daniel Green; son, Jeffrey Michael Green; nephew, Zachary Walter Gorrell; brother-in-law, Paul Daniel Gorrell; sister-in-law, Melaney Ann Gorrell; and father-in-law, Frank Joseph Gorrell. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Green of Conroe, Texas; son, John Green and fiancé, Roseanna Flores of Montgomery, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Lauren Arnold of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Shelby and Hailey Green and Bryce Miertschin and their parents, Misty and Dusty Miertschin of Winchester, Texas; Mason Green and his mother, Jessica Rose Romero of Spring, Texas; Aaron and Riley Arnold of Montgomery, Texas; Michael and Stephonie Martinez and John David Branham of Montgomery, Texas; mother and step-father, Martha and Shell Coggins of Conroe, Texas; father and step-mother, Jimmy and Joyce Green of Rosenberg, Texas; brother and sister-in-law; David and Brenda Green of Lake Texoma, Texas; Randy and Susie Green of Conroe, Texas; mother-in-law, Wanda Gorrell; sister-in-law, Jeanette Gorrell; brother & sister-in-law, Walter Gorrell and Terry O’Hara; also numerous nieces and nephews. His extended family, the City of Conroe, especially the Public Works Department.

Ron graduated from Conroe High School the Class of 1967. He enlisted in the the United States Air Force in July 1967. After basic and technical training he was stationed at Beale AFB, California. He was part of the SR-71 support team. Ron and Elizabeth married January 11, 1969 and spent 39 years 9 months together. It was not nearly long enough. Ron loved to tear things up and make them better – so construction was his niche for 20 years. Ron was hired in November 1992 by the City of Conroe where he worked as Superintendent of Water and Sewer Maintenance and Water Production. Ron left that one for bigger and better pursuits on October 12, 2008 at 3:15 pm. We would like to thank the Firefighters of Station 2, the Paramedics, Nurses and Doctors at Conroe Regional Medical Center.
