Balloon release celebrates National 4-H Week

Updated: 10.09.08
WALLER COUNTY - The Waller County 4-H Ambassadors celebrated National 4-H Week with a Balloon Release on Tuesday, Oct. 7, on the courthouse lawn in Hempstead.

The Balloon Release attracted members of the community and included refreshments and games.

The Waller County 4-H Ambassadors presented a proclamation to Com-missioners’ Court on Sept. 23. The proclamation recognized 4-H youth for their citizenship, leadership skills and involvement in the community and declared Oct. 5-12 as “4-H week in Waller County.”

The Ambassadors rec-eived a warm welcome from the court.

The Ambassadors made a presentation explaining what 4-H is and how 4-H has touched their lives and the lives of others involved in the program.

The ambassadors and Extension Agent Kristi Corley would like to thank Judge Owen Ralston and the Commissioners for their support of the Waller County 4-H program.

To learn more about the Waller County 4-H Youth and Development Program, call Kristy Corley at the Texas AgriLife Extension Service-Waller County Office at (979) 826-7651.
