By Submitted Article
Northwest Emergency Medical Services is to provide free car seat check ups for parents to make sure their children’s car seats are safe and installed correctly.
On Saturday, Oct. 11 from noon to 4 p.m., parents may bring their seats to the parking lot behind Klein’s Super Market on Quinn Road next to the central fire station on Rudel.
People from Safe Kids of Greater Houston will be on hand to answer questions about car seat recalls, what age children should be using car seats, when babies’ seats should be turned to face forward and how seats should fit in a car.
One statistic shows that 90 percent of child safety seats are being used incorrectly.
