Cy Springs High School will honor Olympic gold medalist Cat Osterman, a 2001 Cy Springs graduate, by retiring her No. 20 jersey at halftime of the Panthers’ football game against Langham Creek at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Berry Center.
Osterman set several records for the Panthers from 1998-2001, including 33 strikeouts in a 14-inning game.
She went on star for the University of Texas then won a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics and a silver medal in last summer’s 2008 Olympics.
