The Houston Dynamo will honor the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, responder agencies and volunteers for their work with the county’s disaster recovery efforts.

The event will take place this Sunday, Oct. 12 at University of Houston’s Robertson Stadium during the Dynamo’s match against D.C. United scheduled for 6 p.m.

“I’m proud to be a part of the Houston Dynamo’s recognition ceremony to help honor those individuals that went above and beyond their normal call of duty to help get our community back on track,” said Harris County Judge Ed Emmett.

It’s been less than a month since Hurricane Ike made landfall causing major destruction along its path, but due to advanced planning OHSEM reports that most county services were restored within days. OHSEM continues working on the area’s recovery efforts and is ready to respond to any and all emergency situations.
