What makes you the best candidate for this position? It is up to the voters of Pct. 3 to determine if I am worthy of reelection.
What issue do you think is the most important to voters in your district and how do you plan to address it?I think it continues to be the development of good infrastructure, the need for continued economic development and quality of life issues, including parks, trails and the law enforcement necessary to allow residents to feel safe in their community. I address those issues every day by making them a priority.
What issue do you anticipate will require the most effort to tackle? In the near term, the recovery from Hurricane Ike will take priority. It will cost hundreds of millions of dollars. But it’s satisfying to already see signs of recovery in our community and to see steps being taken to expedite the recovery process.

1. What makes you the best candidate for this position?
My diverse background in international planning, project management, communications, logistics, and crisis management gives me the skills necessary to take our Precinct 3 infrastructure forward. I believe we can do this with an open government forum, engaging all the communities and talents of Precinct 3 citizens.
2. What issue do you think is the most important to voters in your district and how to you plan to address it?
Harris County is growing by more than 1,000 new residents every month. The challenges of this growth are the central issue. I will take advantage of available geographical information systems and crime analysis statistics to stay ahead of the criminals.
I will put in place the emergency management practices I mastered as an Air Force Officer. This involves restoration priorities for power and water to hospitals, communications systems, critical gas stations and supermarkets and our homes.
3. What issue do you anticipate will require the most effort to tackle?
With the rapid growth of Harris County now upon us, transportation is the biggest challenge. The solution must be multidimensional. So metro rail, light rail, commuter rail, toll-free county roads, van pools, motor scooter and bicycle lanes and sidewalks must all be part of an integrated solution.
