Driver killed after hitting car, trees

By MATT HOLLIS
Updated: 10.02.08
A man was killed when his vehicle struck another car, causing him to leave the road and hit some trees, Sept. 21.

Investigators say John Boyett was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the back of a 2003 BMW sedan around midnight in the 15500 block of I-10 East. After hitting the BMW, Boyett’s vehicle left the freeway and crossed over onto a grassy median, the service road, and entered a power line easement. Boyett’s car continued through an open field and into a wooded area, where he hit four trees.

Investigators say Boyett died at the scene from injuries sustained by the impact.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Section is still investigating the accident.
