Police investigate toddler’s death

Houston Police are investigating the death of a child at 12803 Northborough about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 4.
The victim, 2-year-old Kimberly Morales, suffered bruising to her head area and was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to HPD Homicide Division Sgt. J.R. McGalin and Officer D.W. Arnold, Kimberly was in the care of her mother’s boyfriend when she reportedly fell down a flight of outside stairs while at another apartment complex. After being taken back to her residence, Kimberly was drinking some orange juice when she started having convulsions.
The boyfriend called 911 and received help from neighbors to give the baby CPR but the child died despite first aid efforts.
An autopsy will be performed by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
