Pumpkin Pitchers

Updated: 10.01.08
Several youths worked in the pumpkin patch Monday at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road. The annual fundraiser supports the church’s Pure Sound Youth Choir, comprised of about 80 seventh- through 12th-graders. The pumpkins are from New Mexico and another shipment will freshen up the stock later in the sale, which lasts until Oct. 31. The stand made $700 its first day of operations, participants said.
