Oilers rough up Rayburn, 59-0
Pearland scored 42 first-quarter points and held Sam Rayburn to five total yards in taking a 59-0 District 22-5A win Saturday afternoon in Pasadena.
The Oilers – who also defeated Pasadena High by a 59-0 count last week – were equally impressive in this victory.
Running back Kasey Carrier scored on runs of 3, 5 and 49 yards in helping the Oilers (4-0, 2-0) open the 42-0 first-quarter lead. Carrier finished with 139 yards rushing on just nine attempts.
Oiler quarterback Sam Allen threw touchdown passes of seven and 47 yards to Kevin Miller, and completed 9 of 12 passes for 173 yards in a shortened outing.
The Oilers led 56-0 at halftime, and Blake Allan’s 20-yard field goal represented Pearland’s only points in the second half.
The Oilers rolled up 478 yards of offense while Rayburn had two first downs, minus two yards rushing and seven yards passing
