Monday’s Online Power Ratings (MOPR)

By Michael Sudhalter
Updated: 09.29.08
Monday’s Online Power Ratings (MOPR) is a new feature for The Sun. Each week, we’ll rank the 12 teams in our coverage area. E-mail Sun Sports Editor Michael Sudhalter at msudhalter@hcnonline.com to share your thoughts and opinions on the ratings.

1. Klein Oak (2-0, 1-0) The Panthers are well-rounded and could compete with Spring Westfield for the district championship.

2. Cy Ridge (2-1, 1-0) Senior quarterback Russell Shepard well lead this team deep into the playoffs.

3. Cy Woods (1-1, 0-1) Rarely has a team looked so good coming off a loss. The Wildcats fell to Cy Ridge, 43-41, on Friday.

4. Cy Falls (1-2, 1-0) The Golden Eagles are back on track after losing their first two games.

5. Klein Forest (2-1, 0-1) Can Klein Forest recover from last week’s 34-6 loss to Klein Oak?

6. Cy Creek (1-1, 1-0) The Cougars, led by senior quarterback Austin Pugliese, are averaging 34 points per game.

7. Cy Springs (2-1, 1-0) A surprising start, but how will they fare against District 15’s elite teams?

8. Klein (1-1, 1-0) They beat Klein Collins, 6-2, with defense, but the quarterback questions must be answered, quickly.

9. Langham Creek (0-3, 0-1) Defense was supposed to be the Lobos’ strength; now it’s senior quarterback Will Bryant and the offense.

10. Klein Collins (2-1, 0-1) The Tigers haven’t scored a touchdown since the first half of their 17-9 win over Cy-Fair on Sept. 4.

11. Jersey Village (0-3, 0-1) Jersey Village can’t afford to have five turnovers against a high-powered Cy Woods offense.

12. Cy-Fair (0-3, 0-1) The Bobcats’ tough defense will have its hands full with Langham Creek this Friday.
