Magnolia ISD Livestock Show underway
The results for the 24th Magnolia Independent School District Livestock Rabbit and Poultry Show, held Sept. 27, are in.
Here are the results of last Saturday’s show:
Rabbit Show
Wendy Hart - Grand Champion
Cameron Carter - Reserve Champion
Broiler Show
Nicole Larson - Grand Champion
Taylor Barton - Reserve Champion
Turkey Show
Alan Mona - Grand Champion
Jessica Murski - Reserve Champion
Organizers of the event, that was reset due to Hurricane Ike, said they are looking forward to next weekend’s completion of the show on Friday, Oct. 10. The show will be followed by the annual auction on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The Magnolia ISD Livestock Show will kick-off Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. with weigh-in of steers and heifers followed by hogs, lambs and goats. The Steer Show will begin in the Magnolia High School livestock barn at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s events begin at 8 a.m. with the Baked Goods Show and the highlight of the weekend, the auction sale of students’ projects, will begin at 4 p.m. with a Buyers Barbecue and Registration. The auctioneer will strike his gavel to begin the sale at 6 p.m.
