Dayton officials urge residents not to burn trash

By HCN Staff
Updated: 09.25.08
Hurricane Ike clearly wreaked havoc throughout the Dayton area, but city officials urge residents the danger from the storm is not over.

Because there may be fuel on the ground, officials are asking that residents avoid burning trash and other debris left behind by the storm. Instead, residents are asked to put debris and trash from the storm in front of the homes near the ditch.

Trash pickup will resume in the coming days and the fire risks are too great for residents to burn trash.
