Centerpoint says most of county to have power by Monday

Centerpoint Energy announced Thursday that most of Fort Bend County should have power restored by Monday.

According to a statement on the Centerpoint website, 80 percent of the customers in ZIP codes 77469 and 77471 should have electricity by the end of the day Friday.

Eighty percent of customers in ZIP codes 77478, 77477, 77459 and 77479 should have electricity by the end of Monday.

One ZIP code, 77489, should have electricity to most customers some after Monday, the company said.


More than 2 million customers in the Greater Houston area lost power in Hurricane Ike.
