Clinics offer immunizations

Ten-year-old Giovanni Sandoval receives an immunization from Marsha Doebler, RN, Wellness Nurse with Trinity Medical Center. Trinity was providing a shot clinic at Hempstead High School on Aug. 28.Trinity Medical Center in Brenham recently held shot clinics in Waller and Hempstead, in an effort to help area parents and children get ready for the school year. Trinity’s Wellness Center nurses worked in conjunction with St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Hempstead and the two school districts to provide the special clinics. A total of 123 immunizations were given in Waller, and 58 were given in Hempstead. Trinity also provided a shot clinic in 2007 at St. Katherine Drexel. The Wellness Center normally provides children’s immunizations on Wednesdays from 1-5 p.m. at its location at 2111 South Day Street in Brenham.  No appointment is required during the Wednesday clinics.  The charge per child is $10 regardless of the number of shots received.  Children on CHIPs or Medicaid are free.
