The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents recently:
- An officer was dispatched to the 14,000 block of Shadow Bay, in Willis, in reference to an Assault – Family Violence. On arrival, the female complainant reported that she and her disabled son had both been assaulted by her husband. The husband was taken into custody, handcuffed and placed in the rear seat of the patrol vehicle and secured. The husband then slipped his handcuffs from behind and managed to open the locked patrol vehicle and fled on foot into the neighborhood. The general area was surrounded when a perimeter was set by several assisting officers. A K-9 track dog located the suspect, hiding in a pontoon boat.
-An officer was dispatched to a Burglary In-Progress on Six Pines Road. Upon arrival the officer met with complainants regarding a W/M having been inside their vehicles and that the victims Drivers License, Credit Card and a camera were missing. While on scene the officer was flagged down my another resident and informed that there was a W/M meeting the suspects description hiding behind a dumpster. The suspect was located, detained and searched. Upon searching the suspect, a driver’s license, credit card and camera were found. The suspect, W/M 22, was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and booked in for Burglary of Motor Vehicle, Fraudulent Possession of Identifying Information and Credit Card Abuse.
- while working security at a restaurant on Waterway Ave, an officer observed a fight on the patio. He and his partner went to break up the fight. One suspect W/M 29, was removed from the patio area and while attempting to handcuff the suspect he (the suspect) was able to get his hand free, and attempted to walk away. The suspect refused to obey verbal commands and the officer deployed his Taser. The suspect still refused verbal commands to place his hands behind his back and the officer again discharged his Taser. At this time the suspect complied with commands. The suspect refused EMS treatment and was transported to Montgomery County Jail without further incident. He was booked a charge of Resisting Arrest, and issued a Criminal Trespass Warning for the restaurant.
- An officer was dispatched to the 10500 block of FM 1488 in Magnolia in reference to a utility cable that was across the road and creating a traffic hazard. Upon his arrival at the scene Deputy Slusher observed the cable across the roadway and located evidence (vehicle, wire cutters, cell phones, etc.) connecting a suspect with the crime (theft of copper wire). The vehicle was towed and impounded, other evidence submitted to the crime lab. In speaking with an AT&T manager it was determined that the cost to replace copper wire and repair damages would be $10,000. This case referred to CID detectives.
-An officer was dispatched to FM 1488 (a business location) in reference to theft of copper wire. When he arrived at the location he met with the complainant (manager) who stated the outer perimeter fence and the fence surrounding the 10 ft rolls of copper wire stacked on pallets had been cut. A lot (est. $50,000) of copper wire was stolen. The exact amount will not be known until each pallet has been inventoried. This case referred to CID detectives.
The Woodlands Fire Department reported the following incidents recently:
- Firefighters were dispatched to 71 Candle Pine PL /The Woodlands, TX 77382.
Upon arrival, the firefighters found the front door open of a residential structure. Audible alarms
were heard from the outside and a light odor of smoke was detected. Occupants could be seen in the structure as the crew approached.
The crew was greeted by two residents dressed in ceremonial regalia who advised that there was a religious ceremony underway inside
the residence that involved a small fire, but that it was under control and there was no need for assistance from the fire department.
The firefighters advised for them to call immediately if they needed any further assistance,
-Firefighters dispatched to 1925 Old Field PL /The Woodlands, TX 77380. Residents on scene reported a grease fire had broken out in the kitchen. The pan was moved outside by a neighbor, and upon investigation firefighters found the pan still burning in the backyard. The pan was extinguished by smothering the fire with another pan. Smoke was ventilated from the residence, and firefighters returned to service.
