KAC VOLLEYBALL DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE

Kingwood Athletic Club is seeking participants for its fifth- and sixth-grade volleyball development league.

League dates are Sept. 22-Nov. 10 and the cost of the league will be $220.

Sign-ups are being held at the Kingwood Athletic Club now.

The league will be limited to 60 girls.

KINGWOOD FOREST COVE BASEBALL MEETING

The Kingwood Forest Cove Baseball Association is holding its annual meeting at 1701 Northpark Dr., Suite 16 on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.

YOGA FOR KIDS

Kingwood Yoga is holding fall registration for classes and birthday parties for children ages 4-12 and teens 13 and up.

Classes meet for one hour and are available several times per week.

KINGWOOD BAND FUNDRAISER

Kingwood High School along with Riverwood and Creekwood Middle School band students will be selling copies of the popular Entertainment 2009 coupon book.

The fund-raising campaign will continue through Sept. 17.

Each Entertainment book contains 2-for-1, and up to 50 percent-off discount offers from local and national restaurants, hotels and resorts, entertainment venues and other merchants.

The books cost $20 and all proceeds go directly to supporting the band program at these schools.

The profits generated will help cover costs of the 2009 Kingwood High School varsity band trip to either the Presidential Inaugural Parade or Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

FRIENDS OF KINGWOOD BASEBALL

On Oct. 13, there will be a golf tournament for Friends of Kingwood Baseball at Oakhurst Country Club. The shotgun start will be at 1:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:30. KIWANIS KIDS TRIATHLON SERIES

The Kiwanis Club of Kingwood will host its 13th annual Kids Growing Through Triathlon the Kiwanis Way triathlon Sept. 13 at the Bear Branch Pool.

The event allows young athletes ages 7-12 years old to experience the fun and excitement of triathlon.

Every athlete will receive a finisher’s ribbon and “goodies.” Awards will be given to the top three boys and girls in each age grouping.

Race numbers, instructions and course maps will be available one hour before start time.

Please arrive no later than 45 minutes before races start at 8 a.m. to check in, review the course and ready your transition area.

Entry fees will be $20 if postmarked by the Monday before race day or through online registration at www.kiwanishoustonsunrise.org. Race day registration will be $25.

TEXAS HEATWAVE SOCCER FALL SIGN UP UNDERWAY

Registration for the fall recreational season of the Texas HeatWave soccer club is in full swing.

Players ages 4-18 are invited to join the fun while learning about the sport.

The cost for U4/5 and U6 players is $80, while U7-U19 players is $95.

Fees include uniform, team photos, trophies for all players U4 to U8, regular season games and an end-of-season tournament.

KINGWOOD BOYS LACROSSE FALL REGISTRATION

Kingwood Lacrosse registration is now open for the 2008 fall league.

The program is open for high school boys in the ninth-12th grades who reside in the greater Kingwood, Atascocita and Humble area.

Practices are scheduled to begin on Sept. 16 and will be held at one of the local Kingwood schools.

FALL REGISTRATION FOR FUN FAIR POSITIVE SOCCER NOW OPEN

Registration for Fun, Fair, Positive Soccer is now open for the fall.

Soccer sign up is now in progress for boys and girls ages 4 to 18.

Games begin Oct. 11.

All FFPS games are played locally. FFPS gives children a fun and fair experience including one practice per week, a full uniform and trophy for every player, equal playing time, opportunities to play every position, coed/balanced teams, positive coaching and more.

MOMMY AND ME CLASSES

Kingwood Athletic Club now hosts Mommy and Me classes.

Mothers will work out indoors on blankets with their babies in their arms.

Instructors will be using playtime to firm up mommies with pushup kisses, airplane ride crunches, sun salutations with tickles and giggles, and so much more.

Babies should be well-rested and nourished.

TASW PRESENTS “OFF THE HOOK"

TASW wrestling presents “Off the Hook” at the TASW Arena (Humble Bingo) Sept. 13 at 8 p.m.

TASW will crown a new heavyweight champion that night. Eight wrestlers will battle it out to see who will become the new champion of TASW.

Come see a one-night tournament with seven matches to find out who takes home the 10 pounds of TASW gold.
