Tomball area schools to be closed Friday as hurricane approaches

Area schools and municipalities are watching Hurricane Ike. The Potpourri will update readers through out the day Friday regarding possible school closings.

Tomball Independent School District:

Tomball Independent School District reports no closings at this time 11:11 a.m. Thursday, , said TISD spokesperson Staci Stanfield.

“We’re still waiting and watching and when a decision is made, everyone will know,” she said.


Rosehill Christian School:

Rosehill Christian School has canceled class on Friday, Sept. 12 and all activities have been canceled on Thursday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 12.

Step-by-Step Christian School:

Step-by-Step Christian School reports no closings yet and plans to follow Tomball ISD’s closures when they are reported.

St. Anne’s Catholic School:

St. Anne’s Catholic School is to be closed Friday, Sept. 12 and all classes are to be canceled at 3 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 11. Classes should resume as scheduled Monday, Sept. 15.

Catherine Pierce, director of development, said sporting events on Sept. 11 have been canceled at this time along with all other extra curricular activities scheduled at the school including Boy Scout meetings.

Lone Star College-Tomball:

Lone Star College-Tomball is to shut all campus classes and facilities down at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11. All campus entrances and buildings will be closed at that time and will remain closed Friday, Sept. 12. Classes and activities will resume normal hours on Monday, Sept. 15.
