Alan Kasser of Strategic Financial Group in the Greenway Plaza has received the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company’s national Product Leader award as the top agent in the annuity product category.

The honor recognizes the individual who has achieved the highest levels of sales and service performance in annuity during the previous year.

Military


Army Pvt. Brittany M. Cruz has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, she studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, as well as learning about physical fitness and weapons. She is the daughter of Lawrence Cruz of the Montrose area.

Academics

Stephen Jenkins Gibbs, of the River Oaks area, graduated this spring from Dartmouth College.

Gibbs, the son of David and Barbara Gibbs, majored in English. He was one of more than 1,000 students who received Bachelor of Arts degrees at spring commencement exercises. Dartmouth, in Hanover, N.H., was founded in 1769.

Charles Murray was among 317 undergraduates named to Denison University's spring dean's list, which required maintaining a grade-point average of 3.7 or better (out of 4.0) for the semester.

He is the son of Dr. Cathlyne E. Camp-Murray and a 2007 graduate of Episcopal High School. Now a sophomore, he’s a physical education and athletic training major at Denison.
