KISD moves football games for Ike

With Hurricane Ike still a possibility to come to the Houston area, all of this weekend’s Katy ISD football games are being moved to play on Thursday.
All Friday and Saturday volleyball games and cross-country matches also are being moved to Thursday but officials say those plans might not be finalized until Thursday morning.
“You try to have a contingency plan in place for something like this,” KISD athletic director Rusty Dowling said. “We realize Friday is just not a day that we were going to be able to do anything on.”
The biggest move has the Morton Ranch-Langham Creek game, originally scheduled for Rhodes Stadium Saturday night.
It’s moving to the Berry Center Thursday at 4 p.m.
Taylor’s homecoming game with Terry, which was originally scheduled for Friday at Rhodes, was moved to Thursday at Rhodes at 3:30 p.m. as part of a double-header.
Cinco Ranch-Cy Ridge was originally scheduled at Rhodes at 7 p.m. Thursday and has only been moved to a 7:07 game time to accommodate the double-header.
And the Seven Lakes-Foster game originally scheduled Friday at Fort Bend’s Traylor Stadium, has been moved up to Thursday at 7 p.m. at Traylor.
Mayde Creek’s game with Alief Taylor at Crump Stadium, which originally was scheduled for Saturday, will be played Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Crump..
Katy already had an open date this week.
All sub-varsity games which are scheduled on Thursdays, have been cancelled.
