Moving day comes for Cleveland seniors organization
By ALEX WUKMAN
The new facility, which is located next to the Cleveland Police Department and across from the old senior citizen center, opens September 2.
CSCO director Maxine Morris said that everything but the dishwasher will be ready when the new facility open and the fact that the dishwasher won’t be online has her a little concerned.
“It’s a big deal when you wash as many dishes as we do,” said Morris. While the staff of the senior center is in the process of moving, they have had to shut down the kitchen at the current site.
Morris stated that just because the kitchen has been closed doesn’t mean people aren’t eating.
“We’ve been feeding them chicken from Popeye’s and pizza. Everyone is very understanding of what we are going through,” said Morris.
When the kitchen in the new building opens, it will be almost twice as big as the previous one. The majority of the appliances are made from industrial grade stainless steel.
In addition to the improvements made in the food preparation area, the new facility offers massive improvements in food storage. The new facility features three storage rooms and a walk-in freezer.
The building also features multipurpose space by the front door that can easily be used for increased food or activity storage if needed. Morris and the administrative staff will also have premium office space and a room large enough to use as a cafeteria and dance hall should they desire to do so.

The senior citizens worked very hard to raise money for their new center (for many years) and they are not part of the City of Cleveland's government. I think we should be congratulating them for all their hard work. By the way, the other articles you mentioned were simply bumped down the list as new stories were added. You can still find them under the "News" tab on the website. "

My husband and myself ran the youth football league in this town for the past 3 years, we also participate strongly in baseball, I can personally gurantee you, any child or children have never been turned away due to not being able to afford it, in either league, we have paid thousands of dollars to keep these organizations going, I don't have a child playing youth sports anymore, however, I am faithfully there daily, I pick up kids and take them home, I've supplied uniforms , equipment, whatever is needed, because I have a true passion for youth sports and I think every child should have an oppurtunity to play, however, I understand what you are saying also, I don't know very much about the impact center, because I stay so involved with these two leagues, but I will do a little research, apparently were all striving for the same goal, to help the kids in this town........
