Fun Run set for October

Published: 08.29.08
Parents, students and staff are invited to attend the district’s 17th Annual Health Organization of Physical Educators (HOPE) Fun Run, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Langham Creek High School track.

Last year, more than 3,200 students, staff and community members participated in the HOPE Fun Run in an effort to help raise funds to provide scholarships for graduating seniors who plan to pursue degrees in health education, physical education, recreation or dance.

The event, sponsored by the HOPE organization, is open to all ages and includes a walkers division for people who prefer to walk the track for 20 minutes. Also, in the walkers division, families or groups with different age groups may participate together.

School nurses will be available onsite at first aid booths to provide assistance in case of emergencies. Additionally, teacher volunteers will also be on hand to answer any questions or to provide instructions on the event procedures.

The cost to register is $10 per person. A registration form must be filled out and submitted to elementary PE teachers or to the Elementary Physical Education Office at 10300 Jones Road, Suite 655-S. Forms are available through PE teachers or can be downloaded online at www.cfisd.net.

Participants who pre-register for the Fun Run will receive a HOPE Fun Run t-shirt. To pre-register and inquire about schedule information, contact the physical education teacher at your child’s school or call the Elementary Physical Education office at 281-897-4140. Registration will also be accepted at the gate on the day of the Fun Run.

For more information on the Fun Run, contact your local campus or the elementary physical education office at 281-897-4140.
