Katy ISD offers TAKS and TAAS retests

Students who did not receive a high school diploma because they did not meet standard on sections of the Exit Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills or Texas Assessment of Academic Skills will have the opportunity to retake the necessary portions of the tests in October.

Currently enrolled students currently enrolled in school who need to retest are automatically registered. Those who are out-of-school must register either by submitting a paper registration form or register on-line by Sept. 19. Registration packets are available at any high school campus, the Katy ISD Education Support Complex at 6301 South Stadium Ln., or any education service center.

Individuals can also register online for the TAKS/TAAS test by accessing the web site at http://k12testing.tx.ncspearson.com. Either the registration form or online submission must be completed and re¬ceived in Austin no later than 5 p.m., September 19, 2008. Forms received after this date will not be processed.

The tests will be administered on the following dates:


• TAAS

Writing – Oct. 21

Mathematics –Oct. 22

Reading –Oct. 23

•TAKS

•ELA – Oct. 21

• Mathematics – Oct. 22

• Science – Oct. 23

• Social Studies – Oct. 24

Katy ISD’s out-of-school October testing site is Arthur Miller Career and Technology Center, 1734 Katyland Dr.
