Crime Stoppers offers reward in credit card abuse case

By OBSERVER STAFF REPORTS
Updated: 08.29.08
On June 4, an unidentified suspect broke into a woman’s vehicle and took her purse, which contained several credit cards. When the victim called to cancel her cards, she was informed that her Visa card had already been used twice.

A study of surveillance video obtained from Kohl’s in the 7300 block of FM 1960 in Atascocita and the Target store at 20777 Hwy. 59 in Humble showed one man using the card to make purchases for what appeared to be two different black women.

At Kohl’s, the woman was wearing a yellow and orange shirt, with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. Purchases there totaled $246. At the Target store, the woman was wearing a striped shirt with light-colored pants, and with her hair free-flowing at shoulder length. Purchases there totaled approximately $188.

The same man accompanied both women – a black male wearing blue shorts, a large white T-shirt and white athletic shoes.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information called in to the 713-222-8477 tips hot line that leads to the identification, arrest and charging of any suspect in these cases.
