Updated: 09.04.08
On Aug. 27, 2008, Deputy C. Mullins responded to an Aggravated Assault call in the 9930 Block of Northwest Park Place within the Northwest Park Subdivision.

Prior to his arrival Deputy Mullins spoke to the complainant on the telephone and was informed that the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Robert Ballard, had discharged an assault rifle in the air. The complainant stated he was attempting to retrieve money that was owed to him by Ballard. Deputy Mullins along with Deputy Staudt went to the home and found shell casings in the driveway. The deputies then made contact with the homeowner who allowed them entry into the home to verify no one was injured. While searching the house Ballard was found in a bedroom. While detaining Ballard, numerous weapons including the assault rifle were found inside the room. A computer check revealed Ballard was a convicted felon. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and charges of Felon in Possession of a Weapon were accepted against Ballard. Over ten rifles and handguns were found inside the home. Harris County Sheriff Deputies, Gonzales, Bryan, Lightfoot and Staudt assisted Deputy Mullins in locating and securing the weapons. Ballard is currently held in the Harris County Jail on a No Bond awaiting his next court appearance on September 11, 2008.
