It was the season opener for the Tomball Cougar JV team and they made a huge statement to where they may be heading throughout this upcoming season.

The JV Red (A) team won 34-3 with Derrick Lovick scoring on a 3-yard run. It was the only score for Tomball in the first quarter but the team scored every quarter after that and twice in the second on a 30- and 35-yard pass to Andrew Jett and Caleb Robinson.Robert Vines threw the 35-yard pass and also had a 1-yard run in the final quarter. Rodeo Pattison threw two of the touchdowns. Lovick also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Pattison.

The defense played big as well by only allowing 3 points that came in the first quarter. Kevin Frayler had a fumble recovery.

"We started the game with the motor running scoring on the first drive," said Coach Alan Campbell. "We scored on five of seven series. The defense pressured well forcing hurry ups and having several tackles for loss of yards."

The JV White team won 30-8 with Lach Labanna scoring all four touchdowns.

The freshmen red team won 14-0 with Desmond Richard scoring on a 24-yard run and the freshmen white team lost 14-6.
