Soles4Souls partners with shoe carnival for fundraising event
Houston, TX (August 18, 2008) Soles4Souls, the international charity dedicated to providing free footwear to those in desperate need, announced today that they will partner with Shoe Carnival to launch an exclusive fundraising opportunity and national shoe trade-in program at all 300 Shoe Carnival store locations. The programs will begin on Wednesday, September 3 and will end on Wednesday, September 24, 2008.
Soles4Souls and Shoe Carnival have partnered in a unique and exclusive fundraising program that will raise much needed funds for new shoes for those people hurting around the world. For a small donation of $2, one of the 300 million children around the world without shoes will receive their first pair of shoes.
In addition, customers can simply bring in a pair of gently worn shoes to any participating Shoe Carnival store and receive a $5 coupon. All the footwear collected during this special charitable event will go to Soles4Souls. For more information, please visit www.giveshoes.org
“We are thrilled to partner with Shoe Carnival again,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls. “Not only do the shoes donated by their customers make a huge impact on the lives of thousands of people in desperate need; but also, the funds, raised through the $2.00 donation program, will buy new shoes for someone who has never owned a pair of shoes.”
“Shoe Carnival is proud to support Soles4Souls through this exclusive fundraising program,” said Todd Beurman, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Shoe Carnival. “This partnership is a strong fit for our company and one that we think our Shoe Carnival customers will embrace. The funds raised and shoes donated in our stores will make a meaningful impact in the lives of people in need around the world.”
Shoe Carnival provides a real value on name brand shoes for the entire family, a variety of products, an exciting environment and a staff empowered to surprise the customers everyday. Shoe Carnival believes that shopping for shoes should be fun. It’s these spontaneous actions that make Shoe Carnival different.
