Concordia Lutheran High School of Tomball received a rating of “Excellent” from the Lutheran School Accreditation Commission in Texas, recognizing the efforts made by the administration and staff of the school during the 2007-2008 academic year.

Through this process, Concordia also maintains accreditation through the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC) and the National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission.

“We would like to commend you for a report that reflects a quality academic program and ministry that is serving the lives of children and families from which they come,” wrote Darrell Schepmann, Texas District, Regional Commissioner in a letter to the school announcing the rating.

Joel Bode, Concordia’s principal, said the the private school’s administration is pleased and honored to receive this rating.

“It reflects our continuing commitment to our students, faculty and staff, and our mission of building lives of excellence upon the foundation of Christ,” said Bode “We look forward to working together to maintain this high standard in the future.”

Louis Pabor, president of Concordia’s board of directors, said the recognition caps off a “very successful year for the school.”

“Our fine arts and academic teams did very well in local and state competitions,” Pabor said. “Our athletic teams had great success across the board as well. We’re excited to have this base to build from in the coming year.”

Lutheran School Accreditation is a process of self-evaluation by the school followed by a visit of objective observers to help Lutheran schools improve the quality of their programs. The process is designed to help all Lutheran schools to evaluate themselves based on their unique purposes and on national standards.

Schools which complete the process successfully are appropriately recognized. The process has been authorized and approved by the Board for Parish Services of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

Concordia Lutheran High School of Tomball is owned and operated by an association of nine area Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod congregations. It serves a broad range of students and their families who live in Northwest Harris and Southern Montgomery counties providing a Christ centered secondary education since 1984.
