The Precinct 4 Constable’s Humble Office reported no incidents for this period:

On July 31, Deputy J. Cearley responded to a fraudulent use of identification call in the 5500 block of Green Timbers Dr.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 2 reported the following incidents for the period of Aug. 3 through Aug. 9:

On Aug. 3, Deputy Burr responded to a shoplifting call at Target in Atascocita. A 17-year-old Humble man placed an AM/FM car CD player valued at $169 inside the box of a CD car carrier worth only $21. After re-sealing the box, the suspect proceeded to the cash register to make his purchase. The teen was arrested for theft.

On Aug. 3, Deputy Burr arrested a 30-year-old Dayton woman for Theft at H-E-B in Atascocita. The woman chose the self-checkout line to purchase a basket full of groceries. However, the suspect did not scan all the items before placing them in bags. After a close inventory of the groceries, the woman was found to have scanned and paid for only $100.54 of the $117.92 worth of merchandise.

On Aug. 6, the night manager at CVS pharmacy in Atascocita detained a shoplifter until Deputy Carroll arrived on the scene. The manager observed the 27-year-old Kingwood man select a GPS system and walk to the back of the store with it. He emptied the contents of the box into the purse of a female friend. He then returned the empty box to the shelf. The pair was stopped when they attempted to exit the store without paying for the GPS system valued at $121. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office charged the male suspect with theft and declined to press charges on the female.
