The 12UAAA Houston Legends select baseball team finished runner up in the 2008 South Zone State Tournament held in Beaumont, Texas.

The Legends started the weekend with an 0-2 record and then proceeded to win four straight one run games (two of which went into extra innings).

They eventually fell one run short in the championship game to take home the runner-up trophy. There were 30 teams in the South Zone of Texas and the Legends fought hard to get to the runner-up slot and only lost by one run in the bottom of the last inning.

The Legends will be traveling to Louisiana at the end of the month for the World Series.

The Legends are comprised of players from the Humble, Kingwood and Tarkington areas, who before last season had little, if any, select baseball experience.

The Houston Legends have been under the instruction of Jon McDonald, owner of the Triple Play Baseball Academy, for the past two seasons.
