Helping Hand: Fundraiser supports more than 50 area organizations
By ALLEN JONES
The event featured a barbecue dinner, a live auction and a silent auction. Live auction items featured 25 items including a Scooter donated by Magnolia resident Cedric Smith, a fishing and safari trip donated by Randy and Ann Stewart, a youth deer hunt weekend donated by Woody’s Smokehouse, a Texas Longhorn steer donated by Dori Damuth, four Texans football tickets with a signed football donated by Mike Montoya and Ray Childress, a Wii video game system doanted by Chris Jones, and a limo ride with roses, dinner for two and a necklace doanted by Luthe Limo, Tomball Florist, Steamboat Steakhouse and Decker Prairie Pawn.
Funds raised during Hill’s fundraiser support more than 50 community organizations.
“Monies raised in the fundraiser are re-invested into the community through scholarships, Little League organizations, school district organizations, fire departments, search and rescue and many others,” Hill stated on an auction brochure handed out during the event.
Hill said without the support he receives from the community, his annual event would not be possible.
