Fan Appreciation Week at Sam Houston

Sam Houston Race Park (www.shrp.com) will celebrate Fan Appreciation Week with specials, events, contest and more beginning Monday, September 1 through Saturday, September 6, 2008.

Highlights of the week-long celebration event include Dollar Day at The Park, the Grade 1 $100,000 + Sam Houston Futurity, the Grade 2 $35,000 + Sam Houston Derby, Verizon Wireless concert series performances from Texas-country musician Jack Ingram and Shooter Jennings, handicapping contests, prize giveaways, Park Reward sales and much more!

The celebration will begin on September 1, with Dollar Day at The Park. The Park will feature live Quarter Horse racing beginning at 1:30 p.m. and Dollar Day specials for live racing events including parking, admission, live racing program, tip sheet, hot dogs, sodas, popcorn and draft beer for just $1. The 10-race card will feature the $15,000 + Blue Bonnet Stakes race, along with between race promotions and contests, a first-time fan education and handicapping seminar.
