Beverage puts twist on energy drink game by urging consumers to ‘slow their roll’

After a long day of work, Kingwood resident Johnny Curtis wants nothing more than to relax and hang out with his family. But after a busy day, relaxation can be hard to find.
Curtis is an employee with Innovative Beverage Group Inc. which has launched a new anti-energy drink, Drank, formulated to help busy professionals mellow out.
“The CEOs of Innovative Beverage Group are always very busy and looking for ways to relax. They were using melatonin and valerian root to help them relax and they said why don’t we come up with a relaxing beverage,” Curtis said.
Innovative Beverage Group first started with distributing Arizona Tea and soon after began to develop distribution networks and relationships with many area stores.
Innovative Beverage Group is also known for the distribution of Crystal Geyser water, Rock Star, Jolt, Zapp’s Chips and Sweet Leaf tea.
After the Innovative Beverage Group began to see how rock stars, professional athletes, business men and women and others relaxed, they realized Drank would be a great beverage for people looking for ways to relax without resorting to medication and treatments harmful to the body.
“Musicians especially lead a very stressful lifestyle and are looking for ways to ‘slow their roll.’ Drank is the perfect drink and it even has a great grape flavor that anyone could enjoy,” Curtis said.
Drank is a combination of valerian root, rose hips and melatonin and the beverage contains a safe dose of each to aid in relaxation and relieve tension, nervousness or discomfort to name a few.
With the purple labeling and unique marketing designs, customers have started to take notice of Drank, and retailers who have the drink in their store have noticed Drank flying off the shelves.
“It has been a snowball effect where one consumer talks to another and people begin recognizing the brand name. It has been flying off of the shelves. Drank truly sells itself,” Curtis said.
Curtis remembers being at a gas station talking with the owner about carrying Drank and a customer walked in and saw the purple packaging.
“All of a sudden, the guy saw the Drank advertising and got excited. He said he would bring all of his friends to get the drink. The product speaks for itself,” Curtis remarked.
Innovative Beverage Group and Drank were the main sponsors of the Ozone Awards at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The relaxation beverage is available at gas stations around the community and is available for purchase at 60 Spec’s locations around the Houston area. The 16-ounce can of 110 calories is suitable for two servings and is priced $1.99 to $2.49.
“This drink is suitable for any lifestyle. I suggest anyone who needs to ‘slow their roll’ to try Drank and relax,” Curtis said. “Life can be stressful but with this relaxation beverage, this can help make life a little easier.”
