Former Eagle A/C employee sentenced
Sandra D. Allyn, 46, of Houston has been convicted and sentenced in a case stemming from a third degree felony theft from a local business.
Allyn was employed by Eagle Air Conditioning and Service, Inc., of Friendswood when her employer discovered that she had been using company credit cards for personal purchases. The cards had been used by former employees and were supposed to have been cancelled. Instead, Allyn used the cards to pay rent, get phone service and purchase other personal goods and services.
The two month investigation by Friendswood Police detectives led Allyn to be charged with Felony Theft in April. After turning herself in to Harris County jail authorities, she was released on a $5,000 bond. She was subsequently indicted by a Harris County Grand Jury.
Allyn entered a plea of guilty in the 338th District Court on July 17 and was sentenced to eight years deferred adjudication. As part of her sentence she is to pay restitution of $29,000, perform 150 hours of community service, provide a letter of apology to the victim and have no further contact with the company or its owners.
