Suspects arrested in home invasion case
On Saturday, July 26, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy G. Smidt was dispatched to a home invasion at the Red Oak Place apartments at 17710 Red Oak Drive.
When he arrived, he met with the complainant who said that a known suspect forced his way into his apartment and held him at gunpoint while two other men took property from his home.
The first suspect known to the complainant as “Eddie” took two pairs of the complainant’s shoes before leaving. The man told Smidt that he knew Eddie worked at McDonalds located at 339 W. F.M. 1960 and that he lived in an apartment on Hollow Tree.
After further investigation, deputies found that Eddie lived at the Autumn Chase Apartments located at 200 Hollow Tree.
Responding patrol units went to the apartments and found 22-year-old Eddie Nugent at his apartment. The deputies also found the two pairs of shoes that were taken in the robbery in addition to other stolen property.
A second suspect, identified as 24-year-old Louis Keeton, was also found in possession of stolen property. Both suspects were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. They were later released on a total of $60,000 in bonds awaiting their next court appearance in mid-August.
