Passers-by set SUV to rights after it flips in an accident

A three-vehicle accident around 11 a.m. Monday in Conroe resulted in no injuries and an effort of Olympian proportions from passing motorists, according to police.
A Chevrolet Suburban heading south on Frazier Street near Hilltop Drive swerved into northbound traffic to avoid rear-ending a sedan and was struck head-on by a passing car. That in turn caused the Suburban to turn and strike the sedan with its back bumper before flipping on its side.
There were no major injuries, but passers-by decided to literally right the situation.
About 20 motorists passing by the accident stopped their vehicles before Conroe Police officials arrived and used their muscles to flip the Suburban upright. The Suburban was driven by an unidentified man, with three children as his passengers. All were still in the SUV when it was flipped upright.
Conroe Police Officer Mark Schwind said the passing motorists came together for the safety of the driver and his passengers.
“We’ve got a hero story. The Suburban flipped over on its side, and about 20 people stood the vehicle upright,” he said. “You don’t see that much.”
As a precautionary measure, the driver of the Suburban was taken by Montgomery County EMS to Lone Star Airport so he could be transported by PHI Air Medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. The driver sustained minor head injuries, but was conscious and collected on his way to the airport, Schwind said.
