Chess anyone? Play the game of Kings and Queens at the new chess club in Galena Park, 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays, at the Church of God (Seventh Day), 1203 North Main in Galena Park. Free breakfast: American Legion Post 397 is serving free breakfast from 10 a.m. to noon, the first Sunday of each month. Steak Nite offers steak dinners the second Thursday of each month at $5 for members and $7 for non-members. The public is welcome. The post home is located on Challenger 7 Drive, Jacinto City. English classes. Channelview ISD is offering adult English classes from 6 to 8 p.m., every Wednesday, in Room 301 of Channelview High School; and every Monday in the library of Alice Johnson Junior High. Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP): Free spay/-neuter services, rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats serviced by SNAP, and city of Houston licensing for animals belonging to low-income owners. The mobile unit arrives at 8 a.m., Aug. 6, PetCo, I-10 at Uvalde; and Aug. 20, Harris County Courthouse, 14350 Wallisville Road.
