Legion holding jam sessions
South Houston Post 490, The American Legion, will be holding jam sessions every Friday evening in the Post clubroom.
The entertainment manager is asking all musicians (members and non-members) to come by for a night of fun and entertainment.
All members and guests are invited. The jam sessions start at 6 p.m. For more information call Brodie at 713-542-2632.
American Legion Post 490 is across the street from Ellington Joint Reserve Base (JBR) where it is now the largest American Legion Post in the Houston area and the second largest post in Texas.
Post 490 serves active duty, National Guard and Reserve forces and all veterans in the Southeast Houston, South Houston, Ellington JRB, the South Belt, Pasadena and the Clear Lake area.
Seascape candle
The La Porte Community Library will hold a craft class designed for teens, Teen Craft: Seascape Candle, on Wednesday, July 30, at 3 p.m. Create your own seashell gel candle in this unique candle-making program. Annual end of the summer party
La Porte Community Library holds its annual End of the Summer Party on Thursday, July 31, at 2 p.m. The party features a comedy and magic routine by “Incredible Events.” Participants in the library’s summer reading club may pick up reading club certificates.

The date has been set for the 10th reunion of the Class of 1998 from South Houston High School.
The location is the Challenger Park, 2301 W. NASA Parkway in Webster, from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Cost will be announced when a more definite number attending has been established.

Graduates from the class of 1978, Deer Park High School, are invited to the 30th Anniversary Reunion on Saturday, Oct. 25.
There will be dinner and entertainment at 7 p.m. at the San Luis Hotel, 5222 Seawall Blvd. in Galveston, along with sharing a lot of good memories and updates.
